MADRID’S DISTINCT IDENTITY

More than a sequence of daily classes.

ART of - Madrid Ballet Intensive connects exact classical training with repertoire, musicality, choreographic understanding and individual artistic development. Each discipline supports the next rather than existing as an isolated masterclass.

The work asks dancers not only to execute movement, but to understand why it works, how it relates to space and music, and how to make clear artistic decisions.

TRAINING FOCUS

Classical precision

Placement, coordination, musicality, strength and individual technical correction.

Choreographic intelligence

Timing, space, dynamics, intention and the structure behind movement.

The Forsythe perspective

Spatial awareness, movement choices and choreographic tools inspired by William Forsythe’s approach to movement and composition.

Professional perspective

Direct contact with the professional dance world through experienced artists, choreographers and ballet directors, with individual feedback on artistic development and future direction.

Repertoire & interpretation

Movement material is connected to musical structure, style, intention and performance decisions.

Individual development

Focused coaching helps each dancer recognise individual strengths, understand current priorities and define the next steps in their artistic and professional development.

THE FORSYTHE PERSPECTIVE

A method for seeing, thinking and choosing in movement.

The ART of - Ballet Courses are given with the kind support of William Forsythe. His Improvisation Technologies provide concrete tools for understanding space, geometry, coordination, articulation and compositional choice.

At ART of - Madrid Ballet Intensive these ideas are connected back to classical technique and repertoire. The aim is a dancer who can execute with precision and also respond intelligently to choreography.

PROFESSIONAL PERSPECTIVE

From intensive to company experience.

During the first week of ART of - Madrid Ballet Intensive, selected dancers may be invited to join company class with Compañía Nacional de Danza during the second week, offering an opportunity to experience the rhythm, expectations and working environment of a professional ballet company.

Selection and participation are subject to confirmation for the respective edition.

ONE OR TWO WEEKS

A complete experience with room to go deeper

Participation period and participant profile are selected separately. One week forms a complete intensive; two weeks allow more continuity, development and artistic depth.
OBSERVATION CLASSES

Methodology-focused professional development

Teachers, pedagogues and dance professionals can observe class architecture, exercise development, musical choices, correction language, level adaptation and dancer care.
